Hiking
From Rathna Ella village hike for 2 km to see the magnificent Kaluwa Wetuna Ella waterfall, it is tucked away on a jungle track leading to its larger sibling, the 101-metre Ratna Falls in Hasalaka's deep jungle. This provides excellent opportunities for hiking and experiencing the pristine natural beauty of the area.
Transport
Mahiyanganaya is accessible by road from Kandy, about a 3-hour drive. Regular buses and private taxis are available. For a more scenic journey, you can take a train to Badulla and then a taxi or bus to Mahiyanganaya.

Mahiyanganaya experiences a tropical climate with warm temperatures year-round. The monsoon season runs from October to January bringing heavy rainfall while the dry season, from June to September is ideal for visiting. The best time to explore Mahiyanganaya is during the dry months when the weather allows easier travel and the landscapes are lush but accessible.
