Refund Policy
General Refund Process
Refunds for air tickets, tour packages, or other travel services are subject to the processing time of our suppliers, including airlines, hotels, and other service providers. Please note that the standard turnaround time for a refund may range between 8 to 12 weeks from the date of request. However, in certain circumstances, suppliers may take longer to finalize and release the refund.
Refunds will only be processed once Fernando Travels has received the corresponding funds from the supplier. Refunds will be issued via the original method of payment and in the original currency used, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Fernando Travels will apply a refund handling fee of AUD 50.00 per booking, in addition to any cancellation fees imposed by the airline or supplier. Please note that service fees, booking margins, or commissions retained at the time of ticket or package issuance are non-refundable under all circumstances.
For refunds made to international bank accounts, a one-time international transaction fee of AUD 50.00 will be applied. Foreign exchange rates are determined by the remitting and receiving banks at the time of transaction, and Fernando Travels does not guarantee or control the currency conversion rates applied.
Cancellations - Hotels and Holiday Packages
Cancellation fees for holiday packages booked through Fernando Travels are applied as follows:
- 20% of the total tour price will be charged if the booking is cancelled more than 60 days prior to the tour start date.
- 50% of the total tour price will be charged if the booking is cancelled between 60 and 30 days prior to the tour start date.
- 100% of the total tour price will be charged if the booking is cancelled less than 30 days before the tour start date or in the event of a no-show.
No refund will be provided in cases where the client cancels after travel has commenced or for any unused services/hotel accommodation during the trip.
These cancellation fees are in addition to any fees imposed by suppliers (such as hotels, transport providers, or activity operators) and are strictly non-refundable.
All refund or cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to our customer service team. The effective date of cancellation will be the date on which the written notice is received by Fernando Travels.
Service Delivery Policy
At Fernando Travels, we provide travel-related services including flight bookings, accommodation, tours, and visa assistance. Upon receipt of full or partial payment, our team will process your booking and issue confirmation via email within 24-48 business hours.
- Flight Tickets: Issued electronically and sent to your email.
- Hotel Bookings & Tours: Confirmations will be emailed once bookings are secured with suppliers
- Visa Services: Processing times vary based on the destination and will be communicated to the client at the time of inquiry.
If any delay occurs due to supplier or airline issues, we will notify clients immediately and work toward a resolution.
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may share information with trusted partners and service providers to assist us in operating our website and services. All such parties are required to keep this information confidential.
Lay-by Policy
At Fernando Travels, we offer a convenient Lay-by Payment Option to help our clients book their dream holidays or flights in advance while paying in manageable instalments.
Eligibility
- Lay-by is available for bookings over AUD $1500
- Only applicable to bookings made at least 10 weeks prior to the travel date.
- Lay-by is not available for Non-refundable airfares
Deposit & Payments
- A minimum 20% deposit is required at the time of booking to initiate the lay-by arrangement.
- The remaining balance can be paid in weekly or fortnightly instalments.
- Full payment must be received no later than 30 days prior to departure.
Payment Methods
- Payments can be made via bank transfer, EFTPOS, or credit card.
- Automatic payment plans can be set up upon request.
Booking Confirmation
- Travel components will be tentatively held or confirmed upon receipt of the deposit.
- Please note: Some suppliers require full upfront payment and may not be eligible for lay-by.
Cancellations & Refunds
- If the client cancels a lay-by booking:
- The initial deposit is non-refundable.
- Additional refunds will be subject to airline and supplier policies.
- If the lay-by is not paid in full by the final due date, Fernando Travels reserves the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit.
Amendments
- Changes to a lay-by booking may incur amendment fees and are subject to supplier terms and availability.
Travel Insurance
- We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance to protect your lay-by booking against unforeseen changes or cancellations.
