Travel Tips for Sri Lanka
- Make sure you have obtained your Visa for Sri Lanka, if not don’t worry you can get on arrival Visa at the airport in Sri Lanka.
- Keep all your documents with you including travel insurance, passports, hotel and tour vouchers and visa documents.
- Make sure you have your phone either on roaming or purchase a pre paid sim card when you arrive in Sri Lanka. Please provide this number to your travel agent as well.
- Keep your emergency phone numbers with you
- If you are on any kind of medication, have a prescription with you just in case you run out.
- Mosquito repellent is a good idea and will be handy.
- Pack light, Sri Lanka is a tropical country and light clothing is recommended.
- Temples or holy sites in Sri Lanka sometimes have rules on what you can wear. It’s a good idea to have clothing that is light in colour or white that covers your shoulders and legs. ( Eg. Shawls/scarves, sleeved tops, long pants for both men and women)
- It’s going to be hot, make sure you stay hydrated always.
- Be street wise. Make sure you keep your valuables tucked away in hidden pockets and always be mindful about your surroundings.
- It’s okay to haggle for a bargain, so go ahead and have fun shopping.
- Make the most of it, enjoying your stay is by far the most important thing you can do in Sri Lanka… so relax, unwind and take it all in.
